Tina & Wayne – married part 2!

Just wanted to get a few more images out before I post the whole album in a few days. Tina & Wayne had a beautiful hawaiian themed wedding at Chimney Rock in Imperial. Tina’s cousin Greg & friend Steve helped orchestrate the day and made sure there were plenty surprises throughout the day.

Ok, I like Wayne anyway, but here he is cleaning Tina’s ring – how sweet is that? Keep it up Wayne!

Wayne making sure everything is under control.

One of the surprises was the flowers, Tina didn’t know anything about the decorations. Steve & Greg did a great job.

Tina & Wayne ended up making up their vows, they hadn’t planned to do this so they had to come up with their vows at the last minute. Both had really nice, heart-felt things to say. I was impressed that they handled the last minute-ness so well. I would’ve been a wreck. Wayne promised to get Tina ice cream any time she wants it. Nice!

Another surprise! Guests released butterflies as the couple came down the aisle!

Lovely! Tina & Wayne, thank so much for choosing me! Your day was beautiful! Best – ie

More art, less flowers

Ok, I’m posting a few more images. I realize my last post had a lot of flowers so I’ll try to be more diverse with this round.

Art in the Park – Sept. 28th

I’m exhibiting at an art fair (Art in the Park @ Francis Park) next weekend – Sunday, Sept. 28th. I’ve been going through images so I thought I’d post a few. The fair is from 10 AM to 6 PM in Francis Park – one of the best in the City (just my opinion though). Stop by if you can – I’ll have prints for sale and will be offering special pricing for fall sessions! Hope to see you there!

I know, I know – who knew I’d have something like this…

I can’t help it, red just finds me!

Also thought I’d include the fair’s logo…

Remember, it’s NEXT Sunday – Sept. 28th. Hope to see you there!  -ie

Andy’s Business Portrait

I’ve been talking about Andy a lot lately because, well, he’s been round a lot! Last week we did some studio portraits for his new (under construction) website. Here are a few of my favorites. Don’t you love my red wall??? I do. 🙂

Of course I love the blue shirt on red… big surprise.

Andy – you looked great! I loved working with you. Can’t wait to see the new site! ie

Heather & Mike – married part 2!

In honor of Heather & Mike’s 1 week wedding anniversary I thought I’d share  few more photos.

Flowers by Heather’s cousin, Colleen.

I love this moment.

Uncle Bill brought his cool old car… a 1928 Chevy Sedan Hot Rod.

Ceremony at St. Mark’s Methodist Church in Florissant, reception at Bogey Hills Country Club in St. Charles.

Meet Rocky…

His owners, Tina & Wayne, are getting married — NEXT weekend. Clearly it is never too late to shoot your engagement portraits! At least not in my world. 🙂

BTW – My brother’s restaurant, Andrew’s French Quarter, is catering this wedding. [Thanks for the referral Andy!] The wedding is at Chimney Rock in Imperial and I’m really looking forward to shooting there – I’ve seen photos, it’s beautiful.

For this session, we went to Bee Tree park. Bee Tree has special meaning to Tina individually and Tina & Wayne so I thought it was the perfect place for photos. Clients often ask me where I like to shoot engagements and I always tell them “where ever you enjoy being” because, truthfully, any place you feel connected to can be a great location.

Tina & Wayne – thanks for spending time with me. I look forward to next weekend! Best – ie

Oliva… on the Hill

This evening I was lucky enough to be invited to a sneak peek at a new wedding venue. Oliva… on the Hill is just off highway 44 on the Hill in St. Louis City. It’s absolutely beautiful, perfect for the area! This venue is run by Catering St. Louis (www.cateringstlouis.com, contact Jane: jjohansen@cateringstlouis.com) — great for small weddings or rehearsal dinners. Or holiday parties… I would LOVE to go to a holiday party here!

They have a beautiful outdoor area for weddings which can quickly be turned into a lounge area. Notice the bar on the right side of the second photo. It blends in really well.

Indoor lounge.

This is the dining room, so warm and cozy. They really did a great job architecturally… is that a word? Maybe not, anyway. I love the windows on the wall in the second photo. Scott Hepper (scott@straubs.com) from Straub’s did the flowers – fabulous. He really captured the Napa Valley, wine country feel. Notice the chairs and tables – gorgeous wood.

Everyone loves a cake from Sugaree! (Sugareebaking@msn.com)

This is the bride’s room. Beautiful and comfortable, what more could you want? Annette Karsch from Simply Elegant Bridal (www.simplyelegantbridalstl.com) brought the dresses. I want that flower girl dress for my Janie!

Twin Cities / AFQ Ice Carving

My brother Andy owns Andrew’s French Quarter in Crystal City. Andy’s not only a talented chef, but also quite handy with a chainsaw. Crystal City & Festus are known as the twin cities and they their annual celebration this past weekend. As part of the Twin Cities celebration Andy did an ice carving demonstration Friday night. It’s pretty impressive to see him carve a block of ice into something recognizable — and with such detail! First he carved an eagle, then a swordfish. I was hoping he’d do a griffin in honor of my son! Enjoy the photos, I’ve photographed ice carving before, it’s never easy but late at night is REALLY not easy.
