Henry!

In February I photographed Louis. And a few weeks ago, Louis returned to me with his entire family in tow! Big brother Henry just turned 5 so special pictures were in order and why not a family portrait too!

We started out a little shy….

family portraits

Not Louis though…

family portraits

Seriously, how cute are these boys? They could get anything out of me with these faces…

family portraits

See what happens when I let parents take a break!

This is a very ‘Henry’ look. He’s very (very) smart. When I see this I wonder what kind of complex issue could he be analyzing?

family photos

And then, sometimes he’s just a cute, sweet little boy.

family portraits

What a good looking family! Well done Tricia!

family portraits

And Henry is a great big brother.

family portraits

He may have started out shy, but we certainly didn’t warp the session that way!

family portraits

Tricia, thank you so much for letting me photograph your family. The boys are beautiful! Best! Beckie

Little man Louis!

Louis’ mom is an old college classmate who I’ve reconnected with on FB. I’m photographing her best friend’s wedding this fall and Tricia wanted some photos of Louis (whom she feared was suffering as the second child). So I stopped in and we took care of that in no time! This first one is my favorite. Such a sweet moment…

baby portraits

But I also love this one.

What a smile! Louis was enjoying watching cars pass, as I think any boy would.

Tricia, thanks for sharing your family with me! I look forward to the complete family photos in the Spring! Best, Beckie

Tammy, Kolby, & Kaelan

I was warned before this session that the boys could be “tricky” but since I have a 5 year old girl & a 3 year old boy, I thought I was prepared. Now, I’m not one to admit defeat easily, but, I will say – they were a tough crowd. Kaelan truly gave me a run for my money AND he was cute the entire time! I will say the major difference between these two and my two is that I never once (not ONCE) saw Kolby punch, kick or hit Kaelan. Major props for that Kolby! So, enjoy these….

First, Tammy with her boys.

family portraits

And her boys.

family portraits

Kaelan – seriously, those eyes, I’ve give him anything he asked for.

family portraits

Kolby – very sweet boy.

family portraits

And funny!

family portraits

Great moment.

family portraits

Everyone needs time to stretch their legs.

family portraits

Boys & sticks, like cookies & milk.

family portraits

I love sunset.

family portraits

Favorite, favorite, favorite. Love it. 100 & 10 %.

family portraits

Tammy – thank you! I hope you enjoy these photos and look forward to showing you the rest! Best, Beckie

Krista, Mike, Tyler, Emily, & Abby

I think this is my 4th time photographing this family. We first met when Mike was deployed to Iraq in July of 09. I shot his return and baby Abby’s 1 year portraits earlier this year. They’re a great family. Watching Mike as a solider and a father is awesome – such a range behavior / experience / etc.

family portraits

Tyler – played 2 or 3 games before our session, scored like 5 goals if I remember correctly and he was totally NOT crabby. Awesome kid.

family portraits

Emily, seriously, how cute is she? The hair, the leaf, the feet…. great look girl. And the sweater, great touch of color. She is just too cute.

family portraits

Abby – for some reason when she talks she sits still…. so during this time we kept rattling off names of people she liked to get her to say their name and let me get a photo! Whatever works!

Krista & Mike, your kids are awesome, will you raise mine? Please? Ok, seriously, thank you for at least letting me witness your parenting – I take notes every time. Best, Beckie

Tammy, Doug, Austin, Luke, Sam & Abbey!

I shot some of the cutest and most well-behaved kids in October and this family is a prime example. Seriously, at one time, I wanted 4 kids, I have 2 and often feel overwhelmed. How Tammy & Doug manage 4 is beyond me. And the kids are SO nice! I think it helps that the youngest is the only girl, but I could be wrong….

family portraits

At the beginning of the session I was getting “the look” from Sam (far right) but by the end of the session he was suggesting photo locations. I *love* when they convert to my side. :)

Carrie, Steve, Natasha, & Alaina

I think most people stop doing family photos once the kids are most of the way through high school. This past weekend, I photographed a family with college students! Mom (Carrie) wanted one last family photo before people start “really” growing up (and getting married!).

Carrie truly lights up when she’s with her girls, you can tell she adores them. Carrie, you’re an awesome mom, I love watching you work! Thanks for sharing your family’s time with me. Best, Beckie!

Guy & Kieran

This morning I photographed an old friend, Guy and his son Kieran. We had a great time so let’s get on to the photos…

Love this first one.

father / son photos

This one too…

father / son photos

Look out girls….

father / son photos

After The Hill, we stopped at Busch Stadium on our way to The Landing. Yes, we carpooled… because we’re green like that. ;)

father / son photos

And there was a jumping contest. Kieran rocked every jump. Guy, just this one. Needless to say, Kieran won.

father / son photos

Kieran makes this face often, so Dad really wanted a shot… I’d give him whatever he wants, wouldn’t you?

father / son photos

Love this one too.

My too-cute nieces & nephew!

So when your sister (who has nearly single-handedly clothed your two children with hand-me-downs for 4 years) calls you at 10 AM and asks you to fit her in for a session around 11:45 AM, you pretty much say ok without considering if it’s really possible. Such was my life this lovely Sunday AM. I figure if my sister (Jenny) is brave enough to attempt to dress her 4 kiddos (ages 8, 7, 6 & 4) for photos, I should be willing to document the fiasco. And surprisingly, a fiasco it was NOT. It was shockingly chilly, so the session was super fast, but we got everything we needed! What a dream! [We should buy lottery tickets.]

Grace, future President, no doubt.

family portraits

Holly, never met an animal that didn’t “need” her… future vet, I suspect.

family portraits

Erin, youngest girl, so look out.

family portraits

Ben, as much boy as you can handle.

family portraits

This was accomplished without bribery or begging, because I’m a professional. ;) And the favorite aunt as long as Lisa’s not around.

family portraits

This too was accomplished without trickery. I love everyone’s expression, so fitting of each personality.

family portraits

Sis, thanks for the fun! The kids were ridiculously well-behaved, I hope the rest of the day was just as fabulous! Call when you’re ready to view the rest. Love you – ie

David, Amy, Hunter & Grant!

After my morning with John & his girls, I met up with Amy & her boys (David, Hunter & Grant). Hunter is Mr. Cool, Calm & Collected and Grant – he is a ball of energy. Big thanks to Hunter for showing me some new spots in a park I’ve been to MANY times!

family portraits

Hunter really is a sweet kid, always encouraging Grant to do what Mom wants. Yeah, he’s really that good of a kid.

family portraits

Grant cracks me up.

family portraits

Hunter looks so grown up here.

family portraits

Nothing like cuddling with mom.

family portraits

Amy & David, thank you so much for spending time with me. I know your day was very full! You both amaze me with how much you handle and the calm you maintain!  I hope you & the boys had as much fun as I did! See you soon! Best, ie
