Gerry’s Grandkids!

In February I donated a portrait session to a charity auction for King of Glory Lutheran School. Gerry bought my item and chose to spend her session on her grandkids. Our shoot was scheduled for this past Saturday. Yes, the day of much rain. Some of the kids live out of state so we had to make it happen, and make it happen we did! The rain let up enough for us to get what we needed and all the kids were great about tolerating the not-so warm weather. The images in this post were accomplished inside of 25 minutes, probably closer to 20.

Top priority was all the kids together.

Next we did individual families. Starting with the teenagers Maddie, Kyle & Elli

Then the middle girls, Corinne & Camille.

Aidan was being super cute while his mom was talking to his brother Ryan, glad I got it.

Ryan & Aidan are by far the best behaved boys I’ve seen in a while. Their mom deserves a medal! I want to send my son home with her so she can train him as well!! Don’t they just look like angels? Ok, Aidan looks a little bored, but Ryan has the sweetest face!

And we wrapped it up with Nikolaus. His brother Christian didn’t want to join, but that’s ok, there’s always next time.

Gerry thank you for sharing your precious family time with me! I know how hard it is with so many schedules! I look forward to showing you the rest of the images! Best, ie

My Griffin

And now it’s my son’s turn. After I shot Jane last weekend, I knew grandparents would want “matching” Griffin portraits. So I made a mental note to get him in the studio sometime this week. We made it happen Thursday evening. It wasn’t *too* painful… enjoy.

This is pretty much how we usually see him, cuddling his bear & his blankie. What a lover.

And this would be the other way… that’s my boy.

Daddy time.

I love, love, LOVE this photo.

I like this one too…. and these two of Jane. I know, I know, it was suppose to be Griffin’s time, but it’s hard to not shoot her too when she’s so darn cute! And I didn’t ask her to pose in any way, honest!

Lucky for you I only have two kids! No more of my own family, promise! Thanks for visiting. Best, ie

My Janie

Ok, I can’t help myself. Last weekend before Harry & Roberta’s session, Jane “helped” me get the lights set… These are some of the sweetest photos!! I’m only sharing a few…

There is a fine line between blank and captivating; this has me…

Only a 3 year old could get away with a green sweater and pink socks!

Eventually Denny came and shot a few images of Jane & I. I’m glad he did, I don’t have many. I didn’t really look great, but sometimes you gotta take what you can get.

This one is my favorite… of the images of us together.

Ok, that’s it. Enough about me, let’s talk about you!! I’m going to be running a spring special, look for that post this weekend! Best, ie

Harry & Roberta

I really do love photographing anything, but one thing I’m coming to especially love is multi-generation portraits. Last weekend, my dear neighbors, Harry & Roberta, visited my studio with their children, grandchildren and GREAT grandchildren. Harry & Roberta are truly among the best neighbors I could ask for. Harry maintains a garden in perfect view of my living room. My children have spent many (many) mornings watching him work. Enjoy these photos, Harry & Roberta; thanks for sharing your precious family time.

Don’t they look like a couple of high school kids!? Roberta calls me ‘kid.’ Love it!

Big Jane

Meet Jane. Big Jane to be specific… my daughter is Little Jane. :) I’ve known Jane for at least 4 years, maybe 5. She and her sister Mary have always doted on my (little) Jane and my Janie LOVES them. So I’m super excited to share with you Big Jane’s First Communion portrait!!

Jane’s mom liked the Cathedral spread, so we choose the Cathedral for our shoot… after all, you only make your First Communion once.
